The frame beneath the fabric
For a sofa, we begin with the timber used in its frame and the way it is assembled. Material selection includes the parts the finished upholstery will cover.
ABOUT ZELSI · QATAR & CHINA
We bring home and residential project needs together through coordinated selections, defined specifications and teams who follow the work from the factory to installation in Qatar.
How our approach began
01 / OUR STORY
ZELSI began with a problem our founder repeatedly encountered while installing products clients had purchased from China. Dimensions did not always fit the site. Design details had been missed. Problems in manufacturing and material quality became visible only when the items arrived for installation.
A familiar material name can describe different grades and specifications. Choosing the right one means understanding the product, the way it will be used and the requirements of the entire project. Price and a factory recommendation give only part of that picture.
We created ZELSI to bring those decisions together: understand the client, review the materials, select capable factories and follow the details through to delivery. Specialist teams connect the choices made in China with the home being completed in Qatar.
The founder began working with China as an employee, before establishing his business. Eleven years of sourcing, repeated factory visits and close study of products shaped the way we assess suppliers today. This is the experience behind the brand.
02 / HOW WE EXAMINE QUALITY
A finish is one part of a product. We examine the materials, components and construction that determine how it will work in your home.
For a sofa, we begin with the timber used in its frame and the way it is assembled. Material selection includes the parts the finished upholstery will cover.
In a chandelier, we review metal specifications, thickness and the construction details required for that design. These decisions become part of the product specification.
Kitchen hardware is reviewed through hands-on trials. Where further testing is needed, samples go to specialist manufacturers. We request test reports for the boards, hinges and other components from their suppliers.
Our founder sometimes requests several samples, opens a product to inspect its internal construction, or takes it to another specialist factory for a second technical assessment. The decision follows the detail being examined.
03 / SELECTING THE FACTORY
Factory selection starts at the production site. We visit the factory itself, examine its ability to deliver and ask its technical team questions that matter to the project.
We inspect the facilities and the capacity available to make the required items.
We discuss construction and specification details with the factory’s engineers to assess their understanding.
We review previous projects and photographs of work completed for clients.
We study product samples and the component suppliers’ test reports before approval.
04 / A HOME CONSIDERED TOGETHER
On one residential project, the team brought tile, cabinetry, chandelier and electrical switch samples together before confirming the selections. We studied their relationship, then developed the quality specifications around the client’s wishes and the project’s needs.
That approach connects the individual purchase to the room it will become part of: its materials, proportions and finishes are considered alongside the other choices.
05 / THE PEOPLE FOLLOWING YOUR PROJECT
We work with residential project owners, villa owners and consultancy firms, connecting the needs of the site with sourcing and production.
